three days and God multiplies
We have spent this week running a very informal club at the HDC in the school holidays. On tuesday the first day we only had three kids and wondered if it was worthwhile. We played football and chatted and made sure they got a good lunchtime meal, but to be honest we felt deflated by the end of the session.
Yesterday we had 10 kids by the end of the session, a bit more of a connection was made, we had a laugh with some of the Xhosa volunteers, and things picked up a little. Even though the local volunteers seemed to think we should be playing footballwith the kids and not rugby
.
This morning when we arrived to find 25 kids waiting for us, asking after for Iona, and eager to see us. It feels like we are strating to make some headway, and that some things are happening.
